REAL WEDDING: Stacey and Rich

Stacey had been a bridesmaid or guest at many other weddings I had photographed, so I was honoured when she said she always knew she would come to me when she got married!

And earlier this year, I got to fulfil that honour at her beautiful wedding to Rich, then we sat down after the big day so she could fill me in on her wedding planning journey…

Tell me about how you met and the proposal!

We met at The Academy in Macclesfield (which is like a Gym) we were there to lose weight and gained love! For our proposal, we went to New York, we had been there a few days and any thought of ‘maybe he will propose’ had fizzled away, we went to Central Park for a walk and picnic, when we were walking through ‘Sheep Meadow’ Rich stopped to ‘Sort out his lace’ when I turned around he was down on one knee with the most amazing engagement ring in hand! All sunbathing spectators cheered when I said YES and ran to hug him!

When it came to planning, how did you decide on the details?

The venue was an easy choice, it was close to home and perfect for the style wedding we wanted and the views were amazing! My mum, Karen did the flowers, she did a fantastic job and we chose Cream roses as the main flower with other white/cream flowers and subtle pink flowers and some gypsophila sprayed with rose gold spray. Then, my dress was was the Agatha by W.TOO, it was fitted bodice with bead and lace with scalloped neckline and a plunging back, worn with a beaded and sparkly belt, the rest was shimmer tulle with a sweep train and was purchased from The Bridal Boutique in Leek. We also went to Chaplins in Leek for the suits. There was a lot of choice and they were very helpful.

What did you enjoy most about planning, and how did you make the day unique to you in the process?

We loved doing it all together and every little detail was done by ourselves from the choosing Marquee/chairs etc to handmaking all of the mini pallet favours, filling the mini bottles with Rum, table decs, decorating Marquee and choosing lights and colours and even what drinks to have at the bar (which was handmade by Rich and my Dad). It was really important to us that that everyone had a nice time, that the Welcome drinks were cool and ready, all fairy lights on at the right time and the Photos that we requested were done. And everything was perfect! We loved making it unique to us. We had lots of Rum themed things, Table decorations were empty rum bottles with fairly lights and flowers, we even took a bottle of Rum to the Roaches for our Photos, I also wore White Cowboy Boots with my dress (as I love all things Country!).

When it comes to the photos, how did you find my service?

You were brilliant!! Very organised and got things done in a calm and happy way, she made all guests feel relaxed and took amazing pictures! We absolutely love all of the pictures and they are a great reminder of what a special day it was to us, she captured a lot of happy memories that we will cherish forever. We’d definitely recommend Jane, and always will.

What’s your absolute favourite image of the day?

There are so many to choose from! We like them all but our faves are, the one of us kissing in the Church door, one of us with the car by the reservoir, and one of us drinking rum up at the Roaches (but there are so many more fab pics too!)
